  1. TOPSY TURVY TANGO - The Milonga with a TWIST!
    7.30pm - 11pm
For most of the evening we will be enjoying a traditional milonga format (with a good mix of traditional, nuevo, and alternative tango), but on the strike of 9pm we're going all a bit "topsy turvy". For just one hour the tables will be turned and, instead of the ladies sitting waiting for the men to ask them to dance, it will be the ladies that own the cabaceo!! There will be a sharing table buffet so we encourage you to bring something along to share. We will be providing tea, coffee and soft drinks but you are more than welcome to BYOB if you would like something a little stronger!

In this workshop we looked at synchronicity and connection. We specifically looked at how to rapidly turn our partner for moves such as the boleo. We then went on to take a further look at sacadas and, for the more advanced dancers, multiple sacadas.

  6. Argentine Tango Workshop - Ryton nr Shrewsbury SY5 7NB
    2pm to 6pm
Following our summer break we returned with a class focusing on the axis. We explored what we mean by the term "axis" and how it relates to our dance. We looked at what it means to "be on our own axis" and how we dance around an axis, be that the leader, the follower or a shared central point between both.

  7. Argentine Tango Workshop - Ryton Village Hall (nr Shrewsbury), SY5 7NB
    2pm - 6pm
In our November workshop we looked at Vals, a variation of Argentine tango that introduces a quick triple-beat. We looked at the structure of the music and how to interpret it to allow us to dance to and "play with" the vals rhythm. During the latter part of the workshop we looked at how we can adapt some of our existing moves, such as the ocho and the giro, to allow us to dance to beautiful vals music.
